Moneragala Hospital minor employees demand to be quarantined
Staff attached to Ward no 6 an 11 of Moneragala Hospital were placed under quarantine yesterday after it was found that three patients undergoing treatment there wards were infected with coronavirus.
However, the hospital administration did not send the minor staff members for quarantine and they held a protest yesterday demanding that they too should be placed under quarantine.
A representative of the protesting workers told media that they too had been exposed to the patients.
During recent weeks hundreds of health workers attached to several hospitals were placed under quarantine after they had come into contact with patients who had COVID-19.
A number of Health Sector unions have warned that this could lead to serious issues in the future.
