MJF’s sons take board seats vacated by late father

The two sons of the late Mr. Merrill Fernando, long associated with the Ravi Thambiayah-led Renuka Hotels and Cargo Boat Development group of companies have succeeded their father on the boards of Renuka Hotels PLC and Cargo Boat Development PLC.

Mr. Malik, J. Fernando, heading the leisure segment of the MJF Group has joined Renuka Hotels PLC where Mr. Merrill J. Fernando was a board member for over 50 years while Mr. Dilhan, C. Fernando running the tea segment of the MJF conglomerate has joined the board of Cargo Boat Development PLC where Mr. Merrill Fernando was a director for over 30 years.

Both Malik and Dilhan Fernando have extensive experience in business management and sit on the boards of numerous listed and unlisted companies within qnd outside the MJF group.

A second appointment to the board of Renuka Hotels PLC is Mr. Mayura Fernando, a former partner of Ford, Rhodes and Thornton. A widely experienced finance professional and corporate manager, he serves on the boards of several listed and unlisted companies.
