Missing the birthday boy…

There were plans by many to celebrate the 78th birthday of the late Desmond de Silva…even in a small way, in his land of birth.

Unfortunately, curfew came into the scene, on Wednesday, July 13th (2022), and all plans evaporated.

However, abroad, there were special celebrations, especially in Melbourne, Australia.

Says Trevine Rodrigo, who resides in Melbourne:

“Missing our dear friend, Des, on his birthday. His birthday was the ONLY time we got to make fools of ourselves by singing happy birthday to him every year. He loved the gesture though. (He and wife Phyllis reciprocated this on our birthdays,). Our hearts ache we cannot do it anymore.

“Happy birthday, in Heaven, dear friend. Gone too soon. We miss you very much.”
