State Minister of Provincial Councils and Local Government Affairs Rear Admiral (retd) Dr. Sarath Weerasekera had a discussion with Canadian High Commissioner David McKinnon at his Ministry recently. During the discussion, they exchanged views on history, harmony among ethnicities, missing persons and subjects under Provincial Councils.

Minister Dr. Weerasekera expressed his position as well as that of the government and said that he would forever uphold the concept of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa: “One Country One Nation” without discriminating against any race or religion.

He also said that he would never carve out any region or provincial council based on race and religion.
