Missing businessman arrested

A 49-year-old businessman who went missing from Kolonna in the Ratnapura District, was arrested, by police, while he was hiding in Delkanda, Nugegoda.Police said he had gone into hiding, unable to repay his debts.

The businessman, Sarath Kumara, was taken into custody by the Mirihana Police on Friday night (18).On 16 August, the Kolonna Police commenced an investigation into a complaint lodged by the businessman’s wife that he had not returned home.

The police later found his van abandoned near a cemetery.The suspect was handed over to Embilipitiya Police Division Criminal Investigation Unit.
