Minutes missing from files taken into custody from Rambukwella

The CID has informed the Maligakanda Magistrate Court that minutes on the files taken into custody from former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella in connection with the fraudulent procurement of fake immunoglobulin were missing.

The CID investigators have observed that the other files pertaining to Cabinet decisions had their log entries and minutes but minutes had gone missing from the files pertaining to the Cabinet memorandum dates May 30, Sept 27, Oct 25, and Dec 05 of 2022, the court was told.

The files had been released to the CID by the Secretary to the Ministry of Health following an order by Maligakanda Magistrate Lochani Abeywickrema Weerasinghe after a request to that effect by Deputy Solicitor General Lakmini Girihagama, who is leading the prosecution on behalf of the Attorney General.
