Fione Muller Perera with her childhood friend Chitral

We have lots of readers, from around the world, who are fans of The Island and Fione Muller Perera, from Australia, happens to be one of them.

Based in Melbourne, a few weeks ago she mentioned to us about her meetup with singer Suzi (Croner) Fluckiger.

Fione generally check out most of the concerts, featuring local artistes from Colombo.

She went for the ‘Road to 70’ concert, in Melbourne, on Friday, 10th November, and had this to say:

“Friday morning and into the night with this legend and my close friend Chitral Somapala, was a memorable happening.

Fione described Chitral’s stage presentation and voice as simply awesome, adding that he certainly rocked the scene at ‘Road to 70.’

“From the little boy we knew to this young man who shared his gift with the Sri Lankan community last night (Friday, 10th Nov.) was perfect happiness to me.

“I watched him interact, especially with a beautiful elderly lady. He stopped at her seat, while singing, and hugged her. To me, that shows how humble Chitral is.”

“I also enjoyed the performance of Lozaine Paul, Cameron Colombege, and the band Ebony…yes, all Sri Lankans now domiciled in Australia.”
