Medical Ordinance to be amended

The Cabinet of Ministers granted approval for the resolution furnished by the Minister of Health to publish the draft bill prepared by the Legal Draftsman amending the medical ordinance in the government gazette notification, and subsequently forward it to the Parliament for its concurrence.

Approval of the Cabinet of Ministers was granted at their meeting held on 09.10.2023 to formulate a national policy comprised of standards and criteria that should be considered for accepting medical degree courses of internationally recognized Universities within Sri Lanka and to implement the recommendations furnished by the committee appointed chaired by the Secretary to the Prime Minister for amending the medical ordinance to cater the contemporary requirements.
