May 09 mob attack probe: MR allowed to go abroad
The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court yesterday (11) permitted former President Mahinda Rajapaksa to travel abroad from January 20 to January 31.
The Criminal Investigation Department (CID) informed the Court that the Attorney General Sanjay Rajaratnam had concurred.
The Court earlier issued an order preventing former Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa, MP Namal Rajapaksa and 15 others from leaving as they were under investigation over the May 09 mob attack on Galle Face protesters demanding the resignation of the then President Gotabaya Rajapaksa.
