March to commemorate Aragalaya: Court issues order

The Colombo Fort Magistrate’s Court yesterday (09) issued an order in respect of a protest march commemorating Aragalaya.

The court order prevents protesters from entering the President’s House, Presidential Secretariat, Ministry of Finance and Temple Trees.

On 09 May 2022, thousands of anti-government protesters took to the streets, demanding the resignation of former President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and his brother, Mahinda, Prime Minister at the time.
