Man who jumped off Sri Pada summit found alive

A 32-year-old man who went missing for eight days after jumping over the protective railings along the Ratnapura-Sri Pada route, at the Uda Maluwa, last week, has been found.

Following the incident, the Police and the Army mounted a search operation to find the missing person, a resident of Sooriyawewa in Hambantota.

The Police found him in the Rajamale area of Mare Estate located close to the Adam’s Peak Wilderness Sanctuary in the Nallathanniya Police Division yesterday morning.

He was found by a group of estate workers, who informed the Nallathanniya Police Station.The Police said they had not ascertained the reason why the man vaulted over the protective railings.
