Maligakanda Magistrate refuses to grant bail to Rambukwella

The Maligakanda Magistrate on Thursday (14) refused to grant bail to former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, former Health Ministry Secretary and four others pending the case in respect of the procurement of fake human immunoglobulin.

Eight suspects, including Rambukwella, former Health Ministry Secretary Janaka Chandragupta and Additional Secretary Dr. Saman Ratnayake are being held on remand.

The Criminal Investigation Department arrested Rambukwella on 02 February.On 29 February, Rambukwella filed a Fundamental Rights petition against the CID, seeking compensation.
