Maldivian President and First Lady here on two-day official visit

Maldivian President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih accompanied by First Lady Fazna Ahmed arrived at the Bandaranaike International Airport yesterday morning on a two-day official visit.

The President and First Lady’s visit to Sri Lanka was here to attend the opening ceremony of “Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa Trophy 2021” football tournament, the President’s Office said in a release.

The Maldives and Sri Lanka will play the opening match, other nations taking part in tournament being the Bangladesh and Seychelles.

President Solih is scheduled to hold official talks with Prime Minister Mahinda Rajapaksa and President Gotabaya Rajapaksa during his visit.

The President and First Lady will return to the Maldives on Wednesday (09).
