Main opposition requests debate on President’s maiden policy statement

The main opposition Samagi Jana Balavegaya has asked Speaker Mahinda Yapa Abeywardena to allocate time for a three-day debate on President Ranil Wickremesinghe’s maiden policy statement, delivered in Parliament, yesterday.

Chief Opposition Whip and Kandy District MP Lakshman Kiriella, in a letter to the Speaker on President Wickremesinghe’s maiden policy speech. as per the provisions of the Article 33 (A) of the Constitution, requested the latter to make arrangements for a three-day debate on that statement in the coming session of Parliament.
