Madara wins first place in international photographic exhibition

Sri Lanka’s Madara Hemachandra’s two photographs on the country’s wildlife won first place at a recent international photographic exhibition oraganised via the internet.

The two photographs were titled ‘Julius the leopard of Yala’ and ‘Changeable Hawk-Eagle of the Kumana sanctuary’.

In the final round, the closest competitor against Madara was a British.

Her photographs would create a positive impact on Sri Lanka’s tourism industry, the organisers said.

Madara is a graduate in Business Management from the Staffordshire University and a jeweller by profession.
