Madara wins first place in International Photographic Exhibition
Madara Hemachandra’s two photographs on the country’s wildlife won first place at a recent international photographic exhibition oragainsed via the internet.
The two photographs were titled ‘Julius, the leopard of Yala’ and ‘Changeable Hawk-Eagle of the Kumana sanctuary’. In the final round, the closest competitor against Madara was a British photographer.
Her photographs will create a positive impact on Sri Lanka’s tourism industry, the organisers said.
Madara is a graduate in Business Management from the Staffordshire University. She is a jeweller by profession.
