Lumbini Tea Valley’s Golden Breakfast tea wins Gold

‘Golden Breakfast Tea’ produced by Lumbini Tea Valley Ceylon received the GOLD AWARD in the breakfast tea category at the Leafies Awards 2022 (International Tea Academy Awards) held in London, UK on Wednesday (26).

‘Sinharaja Wiry Tips’ a tea which has won many awards for Lumbini Tea Valley in the past received the Highly Commended Award.

‘The Leafies’ is an annual event conducted by the UK Tea Academy in partnership with Fortrnum and Mason UK at which over 40 awards are presented for loose leaf teas in different categories. Each tea was evaluated according to a point system which ensures that judging criteria stay comparable and consistent each year.

Lumbini Tea Valley Ceylon is situated at Pallegama Deniyaya and borders the World Heritage Sinharaja Rain Forest. Lumbini Breakfast Tea and Sinharaja Wiry Tips are two of a wide range of single origin teas produced at the factory.Managing Director of Lumbini Tea Valley Chaminda Jayawardena and Director Uddika Mahadiulwewa were in London for ‘The Leafies 2022’ and received the awards on behalf of Lumbini Tea Valley.
