Praveen Maneesha scored his second consecutive century as Lumbini College romped to a comfortable innings and 114 runs victory over Moratu Vidyalaya in the Under 19 Division I Tier ‘B’ quarter-final cricket encounter at Wijerama Mawatha on Tuesday.

The crushing win was registered minutes after the lunch break as Lumbini bundled out the opponents for 50 runs in the second innings.

It was Lumbini’s eighth outright victory of the season as the team coached by Dinesh Weerasinghe edged closer to Tier ‘A’ promotion.

Commencing from the overnight score of 191 for five wickets, Praveen Maneesha anchored the tail to complete a valuable century as the last five batsmen added over 70 runs to the total on day two morning.

Maneesha faced 151 balls for his century and hit 13 fours and a six. It was the second consecutive century for the all rounder following the 142 runs made in their traditional encounter against Isipatana.

Nishitha Dulanjana, who picked up four wickets, was the most successful bowler for Moratu Vidyalaya.

In their second essay Moratu Vidyalaya were dismissed within 19 overs as a collective bowling effort sealed the victory with almost two sessions to spare.
