Loves helping elders and children…

Our Chit-Chat personality, this week, happens to be a former Mrs. Sri Lanka for Mrs. Universe final top 12 contestant. Thamara Gamlath is also a makeup artiste, model, and event planner, and her modelling assignments, and photoshoots are highlighted, in a big way, on social media. She was also our Glam Scene girl not too long ago.

Well, this is how my chit-chat with Thamara went…

1. How would you describe yourself?

Let’s see…okay. I would say that I’m a simple, charming person, who has a strong personality – and someone who is really into that category of supporting each other.

2. If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

When I think of doing anything, I always analyse the repercussions. I now feel that thinking on those lines will only lead to negativism. So I need to make that change – for the better.

3. If you could change one thing about your family, what would it be?

Oh, yes, I would rather wish I had a very big family, with lots of siblings, and lots of cousins, too.

4. School?

I think convent education is the best, especially where discipline is concerned. I was a happy student at St. Joseph’s Convent, Kegalle.

5. Happiest moment?

The moment I saw my first baby’s beautiful face.

6. What is your idea of perfect happiness?

I don’t think it’s possible to hit the button on anything called ‘perfect happiness.’ Where I’m concerned, I’m very much happy being in the present than dreaming of the future, or regretting the past.

7. Are you religious?

I don’t come into that category of being religious, but I do respect and follow the principles which are suited to my life .I think every religion teaches good, not bad.

8. Are you superstitious?

No, but I believe in universal power. Whatever we do – good or bad – there will be a reaction.

9. Your ideal guy?

Definitely, the one who has that open mind set to be in that supporting circle; the goal achiever, the one who can love, and care, at the same time

10. Which living person do you most admire?

The best role model is my mother who struggled consistently, supporting me to become the best version of myself.

11. Which is your most treasured possession?

Maybe, my looks! Maybe, my figure! Maybe, my height! Maybe, my smile!

12. If you were marooned on a desert island, who would you like as your companion?

My husband, of course!. He is always there for me…protecting me, and making sure that I’m always fine.

13. Your most embarrassing moment?

When I have to face fake friends.

14. Done anything daring?

So far…nothing, but maybe in the future…climb Mount Everest!

15. Your ideal vacation?

I always like to travel, especially to countries with lots of greenery, and amusement, too. I went to Genting Highlands, in Malaysia, by cable car and also visited Batu Caves, chocolate factories, etc. Malaysia is one lovely destination.

16. What kind of music are you into?

.I enjoy all kinds of music, and, in particular, the kind of songs, sung by Elton John.

17. Favourite radio station:

Thumbs up for Kiss Fm.

18. Favourtie TV station:

Neftix I enjoy a lot. I think Discovery is also a very interesting channel to watch because a lot of biological diversity programmes are telecast.

19. What would you like to be born as in your next life?

A person with the necessary resources to help the needy in a big way as I really enjoy helping people, specially those who are in need of support, like elders and children who do not have families to take care of them.

20. Any major plans for the future?

This pandemic situation has curtailed many of my plans. However, I’m keen to develop my modelling career further and also contribute my talents to the fashion industry. I also have an idea of opening a salon, connected with bridal dressing.
