Lockdown extended until Oct. 01

The government yesterday extended the ongoing lockdown until 4.00 a.m. on 01 October.

Presidential Spokesman, Kingsley Rathnayaka said that the decision had been taken during the meeting of the Special Committee on COVID-19 Control, chaired by President Gotabaya Rajapaksa, yesterday morning.

Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella said President Rajapaksa after consulting Finance Minister Basil Rajapaksa would decide which government institutions needed to be kept open. He urged the public to adhere to the health regulations and use the time to get vaccinated.
