Local council polls officially postponed

The Elections Commission on Friday announced that they will announce the new date for the conduct of the local council elections on March 03.The commission came up with this decision when they discussed whether elections will be held on March 09.

The commission said that local council elections will not be held on March 09 due to reasons beyond its control.Head of the Commission, Nimal G. Punchihewa and members S.B. Divarathna, M.M. Mohomed and K.G.G. Pathirana attended the meeting.
