Legal action would be filed against the suspects of the Easter Sunday attacks in the next two months, Justice Minister Mohamed Ali Sabry said yesterday in Colombo.

Minister Sabry said that the PCoI findings on the Easter Sunday attacks were still being studied, and investigations carried out by the CID. Legal action would be taken shortly, he added.

The Minister said that the AG wanted to go through the evidence recorded at the PCoI and those statements had been made available to him, too.

The government had taken steps to ensure that all communities could live in harmony; however there were some individuals who were trying to create divisions, especially through social media, the Justice Minister said.

Minister Sabry said the government would ensure that incidents like the Easter Sunday terror attacks did not take place in the future.

Minister Sabry urged the public not to make the attacks a political issue and that President Gotabaya Rajapaksa would not treat with kid gloves any culprit involved in the Easter Sunday attack. (RK)
