Lawyer and seniors misguided young cricketers
Muttiah
World’s highest wicket taker Muttiah Muralitharan has accused four senior players and a lawyer for misguiding young players during contract negotiations.
Murali was featured in Hiru tv talk show and he went onto claim that seniors who were subjected to severe pay cuts had demanded that young players showed solidarity with them.
Murali went onto add that the players should have gone on the England tour instead of putting forward unreasonable demands and come in for negotiations after the tour.
The veteran of 132 Tests conceded that the selfishness of few players resulted in all cricketers not getting central contacts.
Murali who has been part of the Cricket Committee headed by former skipper Aravinda de Silva that had burned the midnight oil in putting up a new cricket structure was confident results of changes will be there to be seen soon.
