Law College calls for admission applications even before release of A/L results

Applications for the Sri Lanka Law College admission had been called even before the GCE A/L results for 2022 were released, Opposition leader Sajith Premadasa told Parliament on Friday (21).

Premadasa said that the Sri Lanka Law College charges 15,000 rupees as entrance fees.

“Students also have to pay 1,200 rupees as examination fees. Why has the Law College called for applications before the A/L results are out? Usually, this is done after the results are released,” he said.

Minister of Justice Wijeyadasa Rajapakshe said that he would look into why applications had been called before the release of A/L results.

“There are about 5,000 students at the Sri Lanka Law College, but the government does not provide any funding to the institution. The fees paid by students are its only income. We have to think of that,” the Opposition Leader said.
