Lanka’s forex reserves largely unchanged

The Central Bank, on Thursday, said Sri Lanka ended 2022 with gross forex reserves of 1,896 million dollars, up from 1,804 million US dollar, in November.The Central Bank said reserves are largely unchanged after interest rate hikes in April.The country began 2022 with reserves of 3.1 billion US dollars but ran out of foreign reserves around March 2022, leading to a serious economic crisis.
