Lankan refugee stabs TN cop inside police station with broken bottle

A Sri Lankan, from Jaffna, living in a refugee camp, in Tamil Nadu, stabbed a policeman, inside the Thiruvallur police station, with a broken bottle, on March 15.The suspect had been brought to the police station on suspicion of being involved in a robbery. The stabbing took place when he was being questioned.

The suspect had grabbed hold of a glass bottle on the policeman’s table, smashed it and stabbed the cop with it.The policeman has been hospitalized, while the suspect is to be produced before the Thiruvallur magistrate’s court.

A few days ago, another Lankan refugee, in Tamil Nadu, attempted to kill himself, inside a police station, with a scissor, while he was being questioned over an alleged rape.
