Lanka and Australia to hold Foreign Office Bilateral Consultations in Colombo

The 4th Round of Foreign Office Bilateral Consultations, Second Strategic Maritime Dialogue and Third Joint Trade and Investment Committee Meeting between Sri Lanka and Australia are scheduled to be held today (11) and tomorrow (12) at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Colombo.

These meetings will be co-chaired by First Assistant Secretary of the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Australia Gary Cowan, Additional Secretary (Bilateral East) Yasoja Gunasekera, and Additional Secretary (Economic Affairs) Shanika Dissanayake of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and Secretary of the Ministry of Trade, Commerce and Food Security A.M.P.M.B. Atapattu.

The meetings are expected to assess the status of bilateral relations covering ongoing cooperation and areas of shared interest including political, trade and investment, defence, tourism, agriculture, education, health and in the field of sports.

The previous sessions of the above-mentioned three bilateral mechanism were held in September 2019.
