Landslides: People to be evacuated

Haldummulla Divisional Secretary K. A.J. Priyangika has told the media that 33 families residing near the former landslide site in Meeriyabedda Koslanda in Haldummulla and its vicinity will be evacuated as the area is prone to landslides.

She said that owing to the dangerous situation, a school and a daycare centre had already been shifted to a safe area.People in several areas of Haputale have been evacuated due to landslide risks.
