Lakshita, Nushal score centuries for Ananda

Under 19 Traditional Cricket  

Ananda College openers Lakshita Kularathna and Nushal Dharmarathna put on a formidable stand of 199 runs for the first wicket as the visitors posted 295 for three wickets declared against Dharmapala on day one of their Under 19 traditional cricket encounter at Pannipitiya on Thursday.

Deciding to bat first, Ananda did not lose a wicket until the 29th over as Kularathna and Dharmarathna provided a strong stand. They were parted by Ushan Galagedara who was the sixth bowler used. He was the only successful bowler for the home team.

Kularathna top scored his 117 runs (in 143 balls) inclusive of 11 fours and three sixes. Dharmarathna’s 107 runs which came in 90 balls was inclusive of 15 fours and two sixes.

In their essay Dharmapala were 24 for no loss at stumps.
