Agency has already provided a grant of USD 6 million

The Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA) has provided a grant of 6 million USD to the Ministry of Education and Tertiary and Vocational Training Commission for the implementation of the Tertiary and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Career Platform in 2022.

The primary objective of this groundbreaking project is to establish an innovative ICT-based career platform for TVET trainees, aimed at fostering their development and enhancing their employment prospects. Complementing the development of this Career Platform, the project has made substantial investments in fortifying the capabilities of service providers associated with the platform.

In collaboration with Project Management Consultant experts from UBION, KOICA successfully conducted the initial workshop on March 29th at Mandarina Hotel, followed by the second workshop on August 31st at Jetwing Colombo. The project reached another milestone with the culmination of the Master Plan Workshop for the Tertiary and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) Career Platform Project at Marino Beach Colombo.

Among the dignitaries were Ms. Kim Myung Jin, Country Director of KOICA Sri Lanka Office, and High-Level Officers from the Ministry of Education. The overarching goals of this project are to enhance the credibility of Career Development Guidance, implement strategies for Platform Management Improvement, and formulate Mid-to-Long-Term Development Strategies.

To ensure the successful execution of the project, KOICA has enlisted the expertise of a Project Management Consultancy (PMC) team from UBION. With over two decades of experience in the TVET and Edtech fields in Korea, the PMC team has been integral in facilitating resources for the workshops, contributing significantly to the project’s success.
