Kodikamam police SI killed in road mishap

A Sub Inspector (SI) attached to the Kodikamam police station was killed on Wednesday night when he was knocked down by an SLTB bus at Kaithady, Jaffna.

The bus had collided with the motorcycle the victim was riding. The victim then fell on to the road and was run over by a lorry.The deceased was 54-year-old, R. M. Gunaratne, a resident of Kurunegala.

Chavakachcheri police have arrested the drivers of the bus and the lorry and are conducting further investigations.
