Kiriella alleges delibertate delay on the part of one judge

Chief Opposition Whip SJB Kandy District MP Lakshman Kiriella told Parliament yesterday (24) that he would disclose the name of a judge who deliberately delayed the judgments of three cases the SJB filed against three MPs who crossed over to the Government ranks.

“Our action was meant to remove those MPs. All three cases have been heard before panels consisting of three judges. One judge is on all three panels, and he is yet to submit his decision. The other two judges have written their decisions. As per Article 99, these judgments are to be given within two months after their hearing. Now more than three months have lapsed. If there is a further delay, I will reveal the name of this judge in Parliament,” Kiriella said.
