Kerala cannabis mn found in northern waters

The Navy found about 30kg (wet weight) of Kerala cannabis floating off the Kachchativu Island on 18 July 2022. The detection was made during a special operation conducted by the Navy to chase away Indian trawlers poaching in Sri Lankan waters.

The Navy believes that the smugglers may have abandoned the stock of narcotics due to the presence of the Navy. The gross street value of seized Kerala cannabis is believed to be around Rs. 9 million.
