Kerala cannabis found in Vettalakeni

Suspect with the stock of recovered Kerala cannabis

Navy personnel on a foot patrol on Thursday (22) at Kadeikadu, Vettalakeni, detected about 108 kilos of Kerala cannabis. 

Navy headquarters said that the personnel attached to the Vettalakeni detachment had apprehended a person, who tried to escape. He had 16 parcels of Kerala cannabis in his possession. Following interrogation, the Navy detected 24 more sacks of Kerala cannabis hidden near a house in the area.

“We found 40 packages weighing about 198 kilos,” an SLN official said. The official estimated the street value of stock of the Kerala cannabis at Rs. 32 mn.

The Navy identified the suspect as a 33-year-old resident of Mulliyan area. He was handed over with the stock of Kerala cannabis to the Marudankeni Police.
