Kelaniya University English Department presents Kelaniya Literary Festival on March 12 for fifth time
For the fifth time, Kelaniya English Literary Festival (KELF), organised by the Department of English, University of Kelaniya, is set to take place on Tuesday 12th March from 10 am at the university.
The festival agenda includes two main sessions: a panel discussion themed “Diversity in Literature and Beyond” from 10 am to 11.30 am, followed by a creative writing workshop from 12 noon to 2.00 pm. Both sessions will be held at the K14 (Humanities Faculty Building) Board Room of the university.
Participants at the panel discussion will comprise four alumnae of the Department of English at the University of Kelaniya, Gratiaen Award winner Vivimarie Vanderpoorten, Godage National Literary Award winner Lakshani Willarachchi, poet Nipuni Ranaweera, and 2003 Gratiaen Shortlistee Isurinie Mallawaarachchi. The poets will read from their work, and talk about their writing, providing a free platform for literary enthusiasts to interact with them.
The second session will be a creative writing workshop conducted by Isurinie Mallawaarachchi. The workshop will include engaging activities and interactive discussions designed to inspire and guide participants in the process of creating a poem.
