Kawshitha, Pavan score centuries

Kawshitha Kodithuwakku led the way with a century and Sandew Induwara and Rashmika Madushanka scored half centuries as Mahinda beat Moratu Vidyalaya by a massive 183 runs in their Under-19 Division I limited overs tournament tier ‘B’ match played at Galle on Friday.
Mahinda succeeded in earning much needed bonus points to remain in contention for the knockout stage berth by restricting the visitors to 158 runs in reply to their 341 runs.
Guiding the team to their massive total, Kodithuwakku scored 124 runs inclusive of 16 fours and three sixes.
In the other Tier ‘B’ match played yesterday, Upendra Warnakulasooriya grabbed five wickets to set the stage for Dharmaraja to record a four wicket win over St. Aloysius’.
The victory for Mahinda means that they occupy the top position in the points table of Group ‘X’. However they have only one match remaining.
The second placed St. Peter’s who have won all their three matches have two more matches to conclude the league stage.
Meanwhile, in a traditional two-day match skipper Pavan Rathnayake scored a century to lead Mahanama to 210 runs against Thurstan.
