Karannagoda shines as Mahanama pull off stunning win

Under 19 Division I Tier ‘A’ Cricket

Mahanama College Colombo pulled off stunning five wickets victory over St. Anthony’s College Katugastota as Inuka Karannagoda excelled with all round performances in the Under 19 Division I Tier ‘A’ cricket tournament quarter-final at Mount Lavinia on Tuesday.

After conceding a narrow first innings lead, Mahanama needed an outright victory to reach the semi-finals. They bounced back restricting the team from Kandy to 98 runs in the second innings.

They were left with a target of 110 runs to chase and Karannagoda remained unbeaten on 33 runs to clinch the victory with just eight balls to spare.

Meanwhile in the other quarter-final concluded on Tuesday, Trinity scored a first innings win over D. S. Senanayaka College to reach the semi-final stage.
