Kandy tops GCE O/L results, Jaffna second
13,588 score disctinctions for all subjects
Student of Mahamaya Girls’ College, Kandy, Samadhi Anuradha Ranawaka, topped the country rankings at the GCE Ordinary Level Examination in 2023, while the second place has been secured by Aksheiya Ananda Swanand of Vembadi Girls’ High School, Jaffna. Haritha Minsandu Alahakoon of Royal College, Colombo obtained third place.
The Education Ministry said that altogether 13,588 students have obtained ‘A’ passes for all nine subjects.Based on the results, 72.02% of the students have qualified to sit for the G.C.E. Advanced Level Examination.
The Department of Examinations released the exam results Thursday night (Nov. 30) on its official website: www.doenets.lk / www.results.exams.gov.lkApplications for re-scrutinizing the results will be accepted from December 14 – 18.The exam was held from May 29 to June 08 this year at 3,568 centres island-wide and with 472,553 candidates in total sitting for the exam.
