Kamal Ratwatte passes away

The last rites of Kamal Ratwatte, Chairman of Sri Lanka Bureau of Foreign Employment and former Basnayake Nilame of Maha Saman Devale Ratnapura were performed yesterday (04) at 4.00 pm at the Borella Cemetery.

Kamal Ratwatte passed away on Saturday while receiving treatment at a private hospital in Colombo.

He was 61 years old at the time of his demise.

He was appointed the Chairman of the Bureau of Foreign Employment in December 2019 with the present Government coming to power.

Kamal Ratwatte is the son of late Clifford Ratwatte, brother of the late Prime Minister Sirimavo Bandaranaike.

He was a well-known businessman.
