Kalana Tech Engineering wins Industrial Excellence Silver Award

Kalana Tech Engineering, one of the leading manufacturers of machinery in Sri Lanka, won the Silver Award in the medium and large scale machinery and associated products category at the Industrial Excellence Awards organised by the Industrial Development Board (IDB).

Managing Director of the company, G.A.S. Kularathna, received the award at the ceremony held at Waters Edge under the patronage of President Gotabaya Rajapaksa and former Minister of Industries Wimal Weerawansa.Established in 2005, the company manufactures state-of-the-art machinery of highest quality, using iron and steel, to be used in various fields, using advanced machinery imported from Japan. It manufactures parts for Singer water pump as well as machine parts for tea factories and machinery and spare parts for various government and private companies.

“It costs a substantial amount of foreign exchange to import machinery required for production. But we were able to produce a lot of machinery that met the demands of local entrepreneurs. We look forward to introducing more innovations in the future, Kularatne said.
