JVP warns of India, US and China meddling in Lanka’s internal affairs with govt. bungling

Irrespective of the prevailing situation in the country owing to the COVD-19 pandemic, the foreign powers continued to meddle with internal affairs at the expense of national security, JVP says.

JVP MP Vijitha Herath addressing the media at the party headquarters, on Tuesday, said that a senior US State Department official was to visit the country in the coming days. “He is coming hot on the heels of a visit by a high-powered Chinese delegation. These forces continue to interfere in our domestic affairs. The government enters into deals and agreements with them. The country will lose its sovereignty at this rate. Sri Lanka has become a victim of global power struggle. The Sri Lankan government let them play whatever game they like here. The people and future generations will suffer as a result. What we witness today is the beginning of that process.”

India, US and China interfering in internal matters was a clear and present danger to national security. “The government has no backbone to defy their dictates. We warn people that the end result of the government playing with super powers would jeopardize the country’s sovereignty and national security.”
