JVP fears conspiracy to cause chaos

The only way the current dispensation could remain in power was by unleashing chaos, National People’s Power (NPP) leader, Anura Kumara Dissanayake said on Sunday addressing the party’s retired military personnel’s association in Badulla.

“This can be an ethnic or religion conflict. If you look at some Tamil papers, a lot of space is given to stories about Christian movements spreadking in the North. There are movements in the North, similar to the RSS in India,” he said.

It has become difficult for the traditional political masters to hang on to power and the progressive forces must identify what strategies that the reactionaries would employ, the NPP leader said. (RK)
