Vishwa Lahiru picked up two wickets in the morning

Jordan Johnson scored an unbeaten half century as he repaired the early damage  caused by Vishwa Lahiru to help West Indies Under 19s to post 119 for three wickets against Sri Lanka Under 19s on a rain curtailed third day of the first Youth Test at Dambulla on Thursday.

Only 25 overs were possible on the penultimate day of the match due to wet weather and the visitors added 92 runs to the overnight total.

Vishwa Lahiru picked up both the wickets to fall. When the West Indies lost their third wicket, they had only 50 runs on the board. But from then on Jordan Johnson and Steve Wedderburn added an unbroken fourth wicket stand to reach 119 runs before rain forced an early end to the day’s play.

Johnson was unbeaten on 54 runs. His knock included five fours and a six.

Today is the final day.
