Job agent remanded for 14 days

Maradana police arrested a person wanted in connection with swindling Rs 400,000. Sri Lanka Foreign Employment Bureau sources said that the bureau had recently received a complaint against the arrested man who obtained Rs 400,000 from a person promising him employment in Israel. “Maradana police arrested the suspect when we were looking for him,” a spokesperson for the bureau told The Island, adding that the Maligakanda Magistrate on June 23 ordered the suspect remanded for 14 days.
