The Transportation Sector of John Keells Group (JKH) partnered the University of Moratuwa for the 15th consecutive year on its strategic collaboration with the Department of Transport Management & Logistics Engineering (TM&LE), showcasing an unwavering commitment to collaboration and the development of human capital in the Transportation and Logistics industries.

The initiative involves the funding and implementation of a scholarship scheme for the undergraduate students of the TM&LE Department providing them with a multitude of attractive career choices in the fields of aviation, shipping, logistics and supply chain management and public transport.

The collaboration includes the development of English language and communication skills of first year students of the department through customised English training implemented by John Keells Foundation since project inception in 2006, a need and merit-based scholarship scheme for students, and also an extensive mentoring programme offering internships and industrial placements.

The culmination of this programme for the financial year 2022/23 was recently celebrated at Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo with senior management from JKH, the University of Moratuwa and other supporting organisations gracing the occasion. Certificates and awards were given to the students who completed the programme. The event also featured a musical performance from the students while heartfelt testimonials were shared by those who had benefited from the programme.
