Jaffna Kings secure play-offs slot

Defending Champions Jaffna Kings have secured a spot in the play-offs of the LPL 2021 following their win over Kandy Warriors at RPS yesterday.

In a rain curtailed game, Jaffna were set a target of 95 in ten overs and they got there with seven wickets and eight deliveries to spare.

At 52 for three in six overs, the game was hanging in the balance, but skipper Thisara Perera smashed 29 off 13 deliveries with four fours and one six to see his side home. He was involved in a 42 run stand for the fourth wicket with Shoaib Malik (14).

Kandy Warriors were 94 for two in 12.2 overs when rain came down setting Jaffna Kings a revised target.

Charith Asalanka top scored with 44 for Kandy.
