Ivanka, Ganuka SSC Open Under 18 singles champions

Ivanka Samarasinghe and Ganuka Fernando emerged Under 18 girls’ and boys’ singles champions at the SSC Open Tennis Championships continued at SSC courts on Tuesday.

Ganuka beat Nithila Goonetilleke 6-4, 7-5 in the boys’ singles final to clinch the title. He reached the final after recording 2-6, 7-6, 7-5 win over Thilina Dissanayake in the semi-final.

In the girls’ singles final, Ivanka beat Inuki Jayaweera 6-4, 6-0 to win the title. She beat Hasali Gajaba for her final spot.
