Ivanka, Dinara reach finals

Sri Lanka girls team qualified for the Junior Billie Jean King Cup Asia Oceania tournament by virtue of their wining feat in the semi-finals of the qualifying tournament continued at the Sri Lanka Tennis Association courts in Colombo on Friday.

Ivanka Samarasinghe and Dinara de Silva beat their Turkmenistan opponents in straight sets to reach the final and secure the place in the next stage of the tournament in Kazakhstan in May (13 to 17).

The girls team will now meet Philippines in the final on Saturday. Philippines were the winners of the other semi-final played on Friday.In their singles matches in the semi-final Samarasinghe beat Sabrina Rahamanova 6-1, 6-1, while de Silva beat Ilima Guseyanova 6-0, 6-1.
