Isuru shines again, Sadini, Pasindu excel on day two

Isuru Kawshalya Abewardana of Ananda Sastralaya Matugama, who earned qualifying standards for the World Under-20 championships continued his impressive run, while Vijitha Central, Dikwella athlete Sadini Kaveesha and St. Joseph’s College, Darley Road jumper Pasindu Malshan were among the juniors who excelled with notable performances on the penultimate day of the First Selection trial which continued at the Sugathadasa Stadium on Thursday.

Abewardana who clocked 47.25 seconds to win the Junior men’s 400 metres on Wednesday, clocked 21.90 seconds in the men’s 200 metres running alongside senior counterparts.

Pasindu Malshan cleared a distance of 15.50 metres to win the junior men’s triple jump. He was placed second in the junior men’s long jump with a performance of 7.40 metres on Wednesday.

Sadini Kaveesha was outstanding in the long jump clearing a distance of 5.40 metres in the Junior women’s category.
