Israel confirms death of Sri Lankan woman

Anula Jayathilake, a Sri Lankan reported missing in Israel, is dead, according to Sri Lankan Ambassador to Israel Nimal Bandara. He has said her death was confirmed by the Israeli authorities and that the Sri Lankan Embassy is expecting her body within two days.

Two Sri Lankan women in Israel were reported missing following the latest flare up of violence there.

Bandara also said Palestinian officials told him that 27 Sri Lankans, working in northern Gaza, are reportedly heading towards the southern part of the enclave.

They would then leave for Egypt, he added.
